CAMBIA's Patent Document Search Tool
by Rebecca Norman, Graduate Assistant, UALR Lead Center

CAMBIA Patent Lens (http://www.patentlens.net/) is a worldwide, open-access, free full-text patent informatics resource that allows users to search and retrieve the full-text of more than nine million patent documents from around the world. The Structured Search feature enables users to search by keyword, patent/publication number, publication or filing date, predicted expiry date, or lapsed date. With Structured Search, it is possible to see if related patent applications have been filed in other countries.

Patent Lens also contains a section regarding intellectual property (IP). The IP section includes information on IP policies and practices, IP tutorials, and patent laws around the world.

CAMBIA is an independent non-profit institute that creates new technologies, tools and paradigms to promote change and enable innovation. The CAMBIA Patent Lens initiative was created to allow greater transparency in the patent system, and to serve the public worldwide as a platform resource to explore, understand and improve its impact on society. The development of Patent Lens has been supported by funding primarily from the Rockefeller Foundation and the CAMBIA team.
