Research Tips for International Trade
by Kristen Bextermueller, Graduate Assistant, UALR Lead Center

Want to know where to research business environments using economic, political, and market analyses for foreign markets?

Utilize the Country Commercial Guides (CCG) provided by the International Trade Administration. Published annually by U.S. embassies with assistance from several government agencies, CCGs include best prospect export sectors, trade regulations, business travel information and an upcoming trade events schedule focusing on where the best markets are and how to approach them effectively.

Visit www.export.gov/mrktresearch to view CCGs along with several other marketing and industry reports.

Additionally, Best Market Reports (BMR) provide extensive industry, country, and topical market research to help pinpoint the best export markets. Computer Software, Telecommunications Equipment, and Educational Services are only a few of the reports included. These may be located on the Centers for International Trade Development website at www.citd.org/trade_info/index.cfm.
