2006 Dept. of Energy Opportunity Forum

The U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) will host its 2006 Opportunity Forum on October 30-31 at the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner, VA. This year's event provides an opportunity for the audience to hear from those involved in DoE programs.

DoE program topics included in panel discussions are the:
• FreedomCAR (development of emission- and petroleum-free cars and light trucks),
• Alternative Energies (changing the ways we fuel our vehicles and power our homes/businesses),
• Investing in Advanced Energy Solutions.

The Forum's primary intent is to showcase Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) awardees with viable advanced technology solutions, most of whom are seeking strategic partners and/or equity funding to launch or expand their firms. The advanced technology opportunities that will be presented this year include 10 in alternative power; 6 in alternative fuels; 11 in chemicals and gases; 12 in defense and aerospace; 6 in electronics; 6 in nanomaterials; 7 in power generation equipment; 4 in oil and gas; 14 in instrumentation and sensor technology; 4 in membrane filtration and separation; 3 in HVAC; and 8 in environmental technologies.

The registration fee for registrants before October 7th is $395. After October 7, the fee increases to $450. Details about the Forum can be found at www.doeopportunityforum.com.
