Defense Technologies Available for Licensing
by Mildred Holley, Technology Programs Manager

• Are you an entrepreneur looking for new products to commercialize?
• Are you looking for technologies that would add value to your firm's current products?
• Are you researching the state of the art as part of your preparation of a proposal for government-sponsored research and development funding (e.g., SBIR Phase I awards)?

More than 8,000 technologies created in Department of Defense (DoD) laboratories are available for licensing to industry. For example, a patent search for "computer simulation" (an exact match in the description search field) produced 61 matches. The hit list displays the patent number, patent title, originating lab, and patent issue date. Users can view any hit by following clickable links on the page. It is also possible to browse patents by lab. The Army Medical Research and Materiel Command has 207 patents available for licensing.

An easy way to search these opportunities is www.dodtechmatch.com. This site provides a portal to research & development opportunities, licensable patents and information on over 100 defense laboratories.
