WBT06 Showcases New Technologies
by Douglas Mathew, Graduate Assistant, UALR SBDC

Arkansas entrepreneurs and researchers are encouraged to submit applications to present their technologies at the World's Best Technologies 2006 (WBT06) event. The National Association of Seed and Venture Funds and the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer will present WBT06 in Arlington, Texas on March 27-29, 2006. Up to 75 exhibitors considered to be the "best of the best" among seed and pre-seed stage technologies will make presentations during the event. Many of these technologies have been developed in federal laboratories and the nation's universities, often funded with federal research dollars. WBT06 exhibitors will be seeking investors or licensing partners to move these technologies into the marketplace. They will make presentations to attendees and be available for one-to-one discussions in the exhibit hall. One third of technologies presented at WBT in the past have been able to raise capital or license their technologies.

The final application deadline for this showcase is November 18, 2005. Complete details about WBT06, including the application and selection criteria, can be found at www.wbtshowcase.com. Applications include contact information, a technology summary, funding to date, key team members (science, commercialization, advisors), the opportunity overview and the deal sought.
