HSARPA SBIR Solicitation Released
by Mildred Holley, Technology Programs Manager

Entrepreneurs interested in Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) topics in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have a short window of opportunity with the first program solicitation coming out of DHS. Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) released its first solicitation for SBIR proposals on Friday. HSARPA requires electronic proposals to be received no later than 4 p.m. EST on December 15.

The instructions state that proposers may update or modify and submit proposals that were not selected for awards in prior SBIR solicitations. HSARPA does not identify the expected number of awards that will be issued as negotiated contracts.

This Phase I solicitation includes 8 topics. They focus on chem-bio detection, threat assessment, intermodal cargo monitoring, non-intrusive container inspection, marine vessel tracking and cyber-security.

HSARPA's SBIR web site, http://www.hsarpasbir.com, will open on November 19th.
