Mass Enthusiasm
Chris McMillen, Owner
Little Rock, Arkansas

Chris McMillen observed an opportunity to use his experience, technical skills, and creativity in graphic and web design to start a business. Mass Enthusiasm opened in 2003 offering web design services and creative marketing solutions to businesses and organizations. The business was initially a part-time endeavor.

Mass Enthusiasm was a success and demand grew. McMillen's goal was to leave his job with a major corporation in order to expand Mass Enthusiasm and devote more attention to his business. McMillen sought assistance from Heather Robinette, Consulting Manager with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock SBDC, in planning for this big step. Robinette worked with him as he developed his business plan and financial projections as well as assisted in assessing financing needs. McMillen also worked with the ASBDC through the financing process and was able to obtain an SBA loan of $30,000 from Twin City Bank. In October 2007 he achieved his goal, and Mass Enthusiasm expanded.

"The Arkansas Small Business Development Center has been a tremendous asset for our business. Through strategic planning services, the loan proposal process, and training services, we feel that we are much more prepared for our business success and growth for today and for the future."
