Lettie's Cakes by Design
Lettie Curtis, Owner
North Little Rock, Arkansas

Lettie Curtis's custom-made cakes and desserts are frequently at the center of other people's celebrations. She's now doing some celebrating of her own in her new location.

Working out of her home, Curtis built a reputation for quality cakes but believed she needed a storefront location to increase sales. Throughout 2008, she worked with Charles Hunter and Michael Singleton of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock ASBTDC on a business plan and loan package. Her loan was approved, and her grand opening was set for February 2009.

"ASBTDC put me in contact with the right people to make my dream bake shop become a reality," said Curtis. "The business consultants catered to my every need, up and beyond my expectations. I am a very pleased client, and I will continue to turn to the ASBTDC for every service that is available to benefit my small business."
