Kenny and Tracee Harrison had dreamed of owning a pharmacy of their own. Kenny and Tracee are both highly experienced in the phramacy business. Having spent many years working in a family member's phramacy, they decided in 2001 that it was time to venture out on their own. The Harrisons had selected a location they felt was perfect for their new business, Cornerstone Pharmacy. It was to be located in a new doctor's building at the intersection of Rodney Parham and Cantrell Roads.

The Harrisons contacted the ASBDC lead center for assistance in the loan application process. Business consultant Heather Robinette worked with them as they finetuned their business plan and loan application. Working with Simmons First National Bank, the Harrisons dream became reality when they opened Cornerstone Pharmacy in July 2002.

As a result of the Harrison's planning and hard work, Cornerstone Pharmacy has enjoyed a successful first few months of operation. In addition, the Harrisons have since added a coffee bar to their pharmacy to promote a warm and inviting atmosphere. During its first full month of operation, the coffee bar sales exceeded expectations.

The Arkansas Small Business Development Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration through a partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business and other institutions of higher education.
